The Fundamentals of Responsible Investing

Given the speed at which ESG is becoming integral to financial and capital markets, market actors often find it difficult to begin navigating this space and its ever-evolving jargon. By introducing the drivers behind Responsible Investment, E, S, and G factors, investor expectations, industry initiatives and regulatory developments, this module ensures that all learners share a similar baseline knowledge when discussing Responsible Investing.

Duration: 45 minutes

ESG Data and Reporting

Practically implementing ESG considerations in the investment process hinges upon an understanding of ESG data and reporting. With ESG data often being described as a barrier for ESG integration, this module breaks down the current ESG data landscape, thus helping the learner to critically assess and choose ESG data that is additive. This module also provides an overview of how to authentically report on ESG, reducing the risk of inadvertently greenwashing.

Duration: 60 minutes

ESG in the Investment Process

Responsible Investing is not a one size fits all, and the demand for including ESG in the investment process now extends far beyond the long-only equity lens. By explaining how ESG considerations differ depending on the investment strategy, asset class, stage within the investment lifecycle and markets, this module will help the learner understand which ESG considerations can be incorporated within unique investment processes.

Duration: 60 minutes

ESG at the Firm

Traditionally, companies have approached corporate responsibility by engaging in philanthropic activities, independent of their core business activity. Although this is desirable, it is now expected that corporate responsibility considerations sit at the heart of a company’s business strategy. This module provides the learner with a roadmap for setting a meaningful corporate sustainability strategy. Particular emphasis is also placed on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion considerations, which many firms currently struggle to address.
